It is always nice to learn a little more about another culture. In the book From Africa to America by Emma Eminash , the author presents her readers with a wonderful glimpse of life in Uganda.
By now you may have heard lots about Africa and all the countries that make up this continent. We as citizens of the United States of America think we have a monopoly on everything. We think we know how the rest of the world works and how it should work.
It appears we have another think coming. The rest of the world does not revolve around us. However, we do set some of the pace and books like From Africa to America help readers understand that.
This book makes a great comparison and contrast between life in Uganda and the United States of America. It is interesting to see how someone from another culture views the world we live in.
This book shows the growth of the young writer as she progressed from an irresponsible youth in Uganda to a more mature adult living in The United States.
We give From Africa to America by Emma Eminash all five stars. It is very well-written. It is interesting and encouraging. The author allows us to see how she grew in her Christian walk as well as how she matured and realized how to interact with others.
This book would make a great textbook for college level cultural studies courses. It is eye opening and intriguing as well as educational to read the perspective of someone who has come to the U. S. from another culture.
We were sent a complimentary copy of this book. We are under no obligation to write any review, positive or negative.
