Book Review: Beastia by Zoe Cruz

Beastia

By Zoe Cruz
I was given this book in consideration of a review. The cost of this book to me will not affect my review.  I will give you my honest thoughts about this book.

The first thing that I have to say about Beastia is WOW! It is a story about a pretty young lady with a bad attitude and some things that cause big changes in her life. The story starts off with tension and that tension builds from there, to a mighty significant level.  It never really backs off completely, not until the end of the book.

If you are a very sensitive person or have experienced various types of abuse, this may not be the book for you. There was a situation that recalled some recent hurts of my own. There were parts of it that had me afraid and in tears, questioning my own safety and security in this world, to the point that I contemplated not finishing the book.  But, I couldn’t leave the book and couldn’t leave the character stuck in the situation she found herself to be in. I had to let her out and the only way to do that was to finish reading the book.

I finished reading it and am glad that I did. After a really big surprise, it had a proper closure, and a change of perspective for the lead character.

I would recommend this book to young adult readers, except for the most sensitive types. If you’re prone to nightmares or monsters hiding in your closet, this might not be the book for you. If you are able to let things roll off your back, so to speak, you should be fine to read this tension-filled book.

At 118 pages, this is a fairly short, but very full, book.

Beastia is available through Amazon in Kindle and print versions.
