Book Review: The Genetics of Health: Understand Your Genes for Better Health By Sharad P. Paul, MD

The Genetics of Health: Understand Your Genes for Better Health

By Sharad P. Paul, MD

When we read the title of a book like The Genetics of Health: Understand Your Genes for Better Health by Sharad P. Paul, MD, many of us would say, “I think I’ll lie down and let the feeling pass.” If you do, you will miss a great deal.

Normally, this is not the type of book we would read.  But, we really would have missed a very wonderful book. This book is chock full of information.

This book is also extremely entertaining and engaging. Dr. Paul makes the book come alive for us by sharing some anecdotes of interactions with patients.  Some of these are sad.

We think that The Genetics of Health deserves all five stars.  It is well-written, entertaining and enjoyable. It looks like it would be a thick, dry tome.  It is thick, but it is anything but dry.

Dr. Paul introduces us to some very complicated terms, but he explains those terms in simple, easy-to-understand English.

Most of our readers will probably look at this title and think that they would not enjoy such a book.  Please don’t judge this book by what you think it is.

Readers will come away from The Genetics of Health with a better understanding of diet, exercise, sun exposure, heredity, and so much more.  Did you know that coffee can be good for you?

We think that most readers would love to find The Genetics of Health in their stockings this year. You will be pleasantly surprised.
